Matte acrylic primers are specially formulated for airbrushing. The primer is the first layer of color applied to the model to prepare the surface for subsequent painting processes. Vallejo Primers do not hide the model's details and can be applied to a variety of surfaces such as resin, PVC, brass, white metal, or wood. To ensure excellent adhesion, it must be applied to a previously "degreased" surface; therefore, it is advisable to wash the model or figure before priming to remove any traces of mold release agents. The primers are applied in successive layers and dry quickly, forming a homogeneous film of extraordinary hardness and resistance a few hours after application. They can be used neat or diluted with our Airbrush Thinner or Flow Improver. The recommended compressor settings for our colors are around 15–20 PSI or 0.5–1 kg. For proper airbrush maintenance, we recommend using Vallejo Airbrush Cleaner.
