Storm Over Asia

Storm Over Asia

Prequel to the main event "A World At War" in the Pacific theater of operations.

Storm Over Asia is a standalone strategic pre-war game and a companion to A World at War and Gathering Storm, set in the tense years beginning in 1935. Japan, China, Britain, and Russia prepare for an uncertain conflict, balancing expansion, diplomacy, and long-term war planning across the Pacific and Asia.

Japan must weigh ambitions in China against looming tensions with the United States and the Soviet Union, while the other powers attempt to contain Japanese aggression and prepare for a wider war. Strategic missteps can have lasting consequences.

The game explores numerous "what if" scenarios — from alternative Japanese naval and technological priorities to different outcomes in China’s internal struggle — all shaped by player decisions.

Featuring random events each turn, flexible mobilization and research paths, dynamic diplomacy, tile-based economics (no paperwork), expanded unit options, and a diceless combat system, Storm Over Asia offers deep replayability. It can be played on its own in a single session or linked seamlessly into a larger alternate WWII campaign.
